Mark B. Whitaker Water Treatment Plant

Mark B. Whitaker Water Treatment Plant

BCR completed a full façade restoration at the historic Mark B. Whitaker Water Treatment Plant in Knoxville, Tennessee. Originally constructed in 1927, the building is known for its striking Gothic Revival architecture and plays a critical role in the city’s water treatment infrastructure. Our team carried out a comprehensive exterior restoration, which included masonry and façade repairs, cleaning and repointing of historic materials, and the removal and replacement of massive 600-pound parapet capstones. This project required precision, planning, and craftsmanship to maintain the structure’s historic integrity while addressing long-term durability. BCR is proud to have helped preserve one of Knoxville’s architectural landmarks.
