Factory 52 Clocktower

Factory 52 Clocktower

The United States Playing Card Company has been a leader in the manufacturing of playing cards since 1867. The company’s world headquarters was located in Norwood, Ohio from 1891 to 2009. At its peak, the facility in Norwood spanned over 20 acres and employed thousands of people. This beautiful facility was designed by Samuel Hannaford and Sons, renowned architects who also designed Cincinnati City Hall and Cincinnati Music Hall. The centerpiece of the facility and the surrounding community is the iconic clock tower.

The former USPCC site underwent a $100 million redevelopment project, with the restoration of the iconic clock tower serving as the anchor. The restoration of the 130-foot-tall tower presented numerous challenges, including extensive brick, masonry, and steel restoration/repairs. The restoration process was challenging due to tight site logistics and demanding access challenges. However, through the collaborative efforts of the entire team, the final outcome was a success.
